DIY Card Box for $6.00
Here is another DIY project that cost me next to nothing. I have made my card box a 3 tear square cake style type out of boxes that I have found around the house. I used a medium size box for the base which I covered in black poster sheet (its cheaper and wraps it like wrapping paper so there are no lines by adding several pieces of paper) I used an empty tissue box the middle which I wrapped in red cardstock, and for the top I used a small box that I wrapped in black as well. I then placed red ribbon around the black boxes in the middle which i taped using double sided sticky tape if you use glue it will go right threw the ribbon and you will see it. I then purchased the Letter B which was a coat hanger at michaels for 2.00 dollars that is white and I glued some red gems to it that I had left over from my invites. I then bought a fake thing of red roses from the dollar store to place on top of the small box. Glue all threw boxes together in the order you want them...From experience cut the hole in your large bottom base box BEFORE you wrap it in your color or fabrin of choice!!! i did mine after and it was so much harder and I messed up i would have had to start over thank god i did it right the first time!! the middle and top boxes are just for decoration they are not to be filled with cards, just the bottom box is. WHen I glued my two smaller boxes on i used hot glue gun its stronger hold and i sat them back a little rather then right in the middle fo the base box so that the card hole could be there. then decorate as you would like..heres mine!!!
Materials & Cost:
2 large black poster sheets (from michaels .69 cents each)
Hot glue gun
Red ribbon (had a lot from large roll purchased previously for 5 dollars joann fabrics)
Tape
Fake flowers (dollars store 1.00)
Letter B (from michales 2.00)
Red Gems (left over from invites)
Super Glue (to glue gems to letter dries clear and stays better then craft glue)
Pearl Pins
Total: $4.38 for materials I needed to purchase for this project plus materials I had already average cost would be aprx $6.00 (LADIES!! THATS CHEAPER THEN THE PREMADE ALL READY TO GO CARD BOXES THEY SELL FOR 20.00!!! AND THIS IS SO EASY AND LOOK ALOT BETTER)
**NOTE*** you can purchase papermache card boxes at craft stores but they can be pricey but if that is easier for you then go for it!!! here are some pictures to show you what ive done

DIY Pocket Fold Invitations for 15 CENTS
From the start I knew that I wanted pocket fold invitations so after hours and even days of looking for wedding invitations that would just have to be perfect i decided that I would make my own...HARD?? YES!! and very time comsuming but worth it for the cost and the fact I got what I wanted and could experiment with different styles and fonts etc. I used 2 8x10 sheets of black card stock and i cut each one into 7x8 sections. I made three folds... from the top 2inches then again at 5inches leaving a half inch flap that will be tapped to the next section..... 1inch foldtnen again at 5inches the remaining is your pocket when you fold it over becomse the pocket just put double sided sticky tape on each side and will stay. pocket flap should messure aprx 2 and a half inches. Use double sided tape to tape together your 2 smaller flaps. i then cut a 5x7 red mat for the backing of the invitation, and made them as well for the pocket folds for the accomidations, directions, and rsvp card. its all based on mesaurments!!! i created my basic invite in word file and when they are together i will post the finsish product right now i have just been cutting the pocket folds!!
DIY Paper Flower Balls (pomanders)
So, I really really wanted this image at my wedding
BUT i absolutley refused to pay the price for them...I didnt want to use tissue paper or spend the money on fake flowers either so instead i cam up with this.....MAKE THEM OUT OF PAPER AND RIBBON!! I know its sounds totaly crazy..but it worked and i love them!!!
They are SO EASY to make
Materials: 6 inch stryofoam ball ($4.99 at michaels)
Ribbon to cover the ball ($6.99)
Flower punch choice of sizes ($11.99)
Sewing Pins in pearls and Red ($3.99 each box at joann fabric)
Card stock ($2.50 for 50sheets at michaels on sale)
Directions:
Punch out your flowers size and design of choice with paper punch i had put two flowers together and just used double sided tape to put them together i liked the way it looked better with the 2 flowers together.
Cover the ball in the ribbon you will have to cut smaller shorter pieces i found it to be the easiest way to cover it. I cut strips about 6 inches long and just started covering the ball and then pined into place (i tried hot glue went threw the ribbon used tape you could see that too so i just pined it) Dont forget about a tie at the top! for this i placed one long strip all the way around the ball tied it in a knot on top then made another knot so it would have the loop. when the ball is covered (its ok if small cracks are open and you can see the stryofoam becauase you can cover it with a flower) place the flowers all around where you want them to be and i used the RED tipped sewing pins to hold the white flowers in place then in random places i used the pearl ones. Then did the oppisite on the white ribbon and red flowers one.
Time consuming yes, but i think it looks amazing!!!
Aprox each ball cost me: $9.00 dollars!
ENJOY!
